Get Involved to Help Save the Tarpon
To make a difference and save the Boca Grande Tarpon fishery, we all have to help. Here is a quick list of ways to get involved.
Sign the Petition
Take a moment to sign the petition to Save the Tarpon and end the Professional Tarpon Tournament Series (PTTS). It is available online and can be submitted in mere seconds!
Spread the Word
Send an email to everyone on your contact list with a link to our website. Post a link on Facebook, Twitter or your blog. Tell the lady behind the counter at the grocery store. Whatever your method, just spend a moment to share this website and our campaign with others.
Commit to the Boycott
On our Boycott page, you will see a list of all of the businesses affiliated with the PTTS. These businesses are all putting financial gain before the preservation of Boca Grande Tarpon fishery. Show them you do not appreciate their direct involvement with the destruction of an historically and culturally significant fishery by refusing to purchase their products or services. Money speaks louder than words–especially to businesses who put profits before principles.
Also remember, we are constantly working to update the Responsible Local Businesses list. Here you will find businesses in support of our mission who will serve as better alternatives to those found on the boycott list.
Help Document
Evidence of the effects of the destructive and unsportsmanlike conduct being promoted by the PTTS can be seen by almost all who enter Boca Grande Pass. But the effects are much more far-reaching as well. If you are witness to this damaging and dangerous conduct, please take a moment to document the event with a photo or short video and send it our way. Submissions will be posted on our blog for others to learn from.
